Yesterday (07.09.26) Press bowlers Mark Emery and Denise Emery were playing in the Business House mixed pairs final.

They ran out winners over at Girton and are this year’s champions.

This is another great achievement from our Press bowlers.

Last weekend (06.09.25) the CUP played in the Champion of Champions semi finals for the C&D league, against winners of Div 4 Girton A.

It was a very close game that looked to be going the way of Girton A but some big scores towards the end on David W and Pam T’s rinks saw the score gap close dramatically.

Special mention should go to Andrea’s rink (Geoff and Denise) for a spectacular last two ends. Two great shots were played under a lot of pressure and with four clubs watching to change the score in our favour.

The scores finished up at 63-60 to the Press.

This was a great show against a tough new team to the league. We will now play Cambs & County in the final next Sunday at 2:00pm at Haddenham BC.

We would just like to send all our best wishes to Ray Coote, who has been in hospital recently.

He is now back home and recovering.

We want to wish him a speedy recovery and to see him back on the green soon.
